The Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS), in collaboration with the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), conducted a five-day Vertical Interaction Course on Cybercrime Investigation, Digital Forensics and Legal Compliances. Dr. Rai delivered an insightful session on practical aspects of securing endpoints and investigating email-based threats. Essential strategies were discussed for client-side hardening, including updating software, configuring firewalls, and deploying robust endpoint protection.
Dr. Rai also provided a step-by-step approach to email investigation — demonstrating how to analyse email headers, trace sender information, and identify phishing attempts. Participants learned to combine technical tools with forensic best practices to effectively trace, document, and mitigate email-borne threats.
Dr. Rai was In-Charge of this programme, organized by the Uttar Pradesh Institute of Forensic Science for Indian Army Trainees. The programme focused on cyber threats, forensic compliance, and legal response. It provided participants with practical experience in identifying and mitigating cyber threats across IT and OT environments.
This event, organized by the National Security Council Secretariat, focused on vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT) in OT environments. It provided participants with practical experience in identifying and mitigating cyber threats in critical infrastructure. Dr. Rai served as Organizer, Trainer, and Blue Team Manager, managing a budget of ₹3 Crores+ in 2023 and ₹3 Crores+ in 2024.
